  • What is a “book nook” and how is it different from a miniature house or dollhouse kit?

    A book nook is a DIY diorama that slides into a bookshelf like a book, creating a tiny scene between your books. Miniature house and dollhouse kits are small rooms or houses built as standalone displays. Many makers enjoy both—book nooks live on the shelf; dollhouses sit on a desk or cabinet.

  • Are these kits beginner-friendly?

    Yes. We label kits by skill level (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced). If it’s your first build, choose Beginner or any kit marked “easy assembly”.

  • How long does a build take?

    Most book nooks: 6–12 hours across a weekend. Miniature houses: 10–20 hours depending on detail and lighting. Take your time—it’s a relaxing hobby.

  • What’s inside the box?

    Pre-cut materials (wood/paper/acrylic), décor pieces, LEDs/wiring (if lit), and step-by-step illustrated instructions. Some models include an acrylic dust cover—check the product page.

  • What extra tools or glue do I need?

    Basics: craft knife/scissors, tweezers, ruler, PVA/tacky craft glue. Optional: cutting mat, small files/sandpaper, binder clips. Super glue works on some parts but PVA gives you more adjustment time.

  • Are the instructions in English?

    Yes—clear, picture-led instructions in English. Tips and video links are on each product page.

  • Do the lights work with Aussie power?

    Most kits use USB (5V) so they’ll run from a USB power adaptor, power bank or computer. Where a coin cell is required, it’s listed on the page.

  • Are batteries included?

    Coin cells may be excluded for air freight. If a battery is needed, it’s a common type (e.g., CR2032) available locally.

  • What age are these kits suitable for?

    Recommended 14+ due to small parts and tools. Younger builders can participate with adult supervision.

  • Do you ship Australia-wide? How long does it take?

    Yes—nationwide to NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT, ACT. Typical delivery: 2–5 business days metro, 5–9 regional, 7–14 remote. You’ll receive tracking once dispatched.

  • Where do orders ship from?

    We dispatch from our AU and partner warehouses depending on stock. The product page shows availability and estimated timeframes at checkout.

  • Is GST included?

    All prices are shown in AUD. GST is included where applicable, and a tax invoice is emailed after purchase.

  • What if a piece is missing or damaged?

    No stress—contact support with your order number and a photo. We’ll organise replacement parts promptly.

  • Can I customise colours or add extra décor?

    Absolutely. Many makers paint, weather, or swap papers for a unique look. Just keep LED clearances and moving parts in mind.

  • What scale are the kits?

    Most book nooks are scene-based (not strict scale). Many miniature houses are roughly 1:24. Each product page lists approximate dimensions and any stated scale.

  • Do I need soldering skills for the lights?

    No—kits use pre-wired LEDs or simple push-fit connectors. Follow the diagrams and test before final glue-down.

  • Do you offer returns?

    We accept returns in line with our Returns Policy (unopened/unused kits within the stated window). If your item arrives faulty, we’ll sort a replacement or refund.

  • Are these good gifts?

    Yes—popular for birthdays, Mother’s/Father’s Day and holidays. Add a gift note at checkout (no pricing inside the parcel).
